Remember OSW?

Have you seen the OSW (one sheet wonder) cards, and have you tried them lately? I needed to add to my card selection and my mojo wasn't working very good, so I decided to give OSW a try, again. I don't like to do repetitive cards, so I am basically a "one and done" card maker, but this technique is kind of an inbetween, soooooo.

I am also trying to use up some of my DSP. I am NOT a fan of purple, BUT have people I care about who do, so I add it to my stock. I have to admit that I still have a tough time using it even for them. So that is why I have the Bohemian DSP AND why I decided to use it for this project. Also used the Blackberry Bliss ribbon, Very Vanilla, Bermuda Bay, and Hello Honey cardstock. (nope-no purples LOL)

There are so many OSW tutorials available. THIS is the one that I used to create my set. You will need extra "A" cardstock and DSP from your set. Also, there are a few misprints, so before adhereing your pieces, make sure that they fit. I had to trim a few of them.

Here are a couple of notes, too.

I placed the sentiment pieces on with temporary tape, so that I can add what I need later.

When cutting your pieces from the DSP, write the letter for each one on the back. Then put like letters together with the basecards needed in a pile. You then have them all together when you are ready to create.

You can always change things up a bit or add things to them!

Okay, here is the set that I made:

And here are the individual cards:

I didn't have enough of the base cardstock for the whole set, so I omitted card "J" in the tutorial Some of these are a bit plain, so I may have to spruce them up a little before sending them.

I hope that you will give this technique a try or another try. The sets make great gifts, too.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Bohemian mini album

I am not a scrapbooker, really, but every once in a while, I will see a project that makes me want to do a bit more of it. This is one of those projects. Plus I am really trying to use some of my Designer Series Paper instead of hanging on to all of it. So here is what I did:

This is my cover. As the title states, I used the Bohemian Designer Series Paper. I used Blackberry Bliss for the solid cardstock. The "doily" is actually the spider web doily from the holiday mini. I just turned it over for the white side to show. I embellished with the pearls and Blackberry Bliss flowers from a retired punch. The Itty Bitty Punch set has a flower that could be used! I then added pearls to the centers.

This is the first page and the inside of the cover. I created only three pages and each one forms two pockets. For the larger pocket, I inserted a Blackberry Bliss card and for the smaller pocket, a smaller card, plus two tags. These can hold photos and/or journaling. The pocket is decorated with a crocheted flower, cardstock center and leaves, and a pearl.

This is the second page. This one is embellished again with the cardstock leaves and scallop circle, before adding a lace flower that I had in my stash. One of the tags as a piece of ribbon tied to it and the other one, I glued a small punched flower to each side, then a rhinestone on one of these. I did all of the tags the same.

Page three has a lace doily and a sticker from some of my stash.

This is the inside of the back cover. I was just going to leave it plain, but with it being next to the plain backing of the previous page, I felt that it needed something. So I added a piece to the bottom to create a pocket, cut a ribbon strip of cardstock and added pearls to dress it up a bit. I inserted a piece of cardstock with one cut with a decorative shape.

This is the back cover. With the design of the paper, I didn't think it needed anything else. I added Blackberry Bliss ribbon to tie as a closure. Would love to hear what you think of this! And remember most of these products are available online. Just click on the catalog picture and please insert my name as your demonstrator IF you don't already have one!

Here is where my inspiration came from although I don't think her album would hold photos very well. But I do really like it!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Thank you!

It seems the older I get the more thank you cards I need to send. Usually that is a good thing. So I would like to share some of the ones I have recently created.

This is probably one of my favorite styles. This one was done with Garden Green and Old Olive. I used the retired Four Feathers stamp set and Four You for the sentiment. The "splashes" are from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set! This is a very versatile set, not just for calendar making!

This card used a lot of the My Paper Pumpkin Kit that I received and had a lot of pieces left over to play with. This is true of all of the kits. Check it out by clicking on the button to the right. The flowers in the cup are actually from the Sprinkles of Life set, which benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities with each purchase!

This is a simple looking card, but sometimes those are the best. The sun is created with a 2" circle mask. Punch it out on a scrap piece, then lie the "hole" on the mat and sponge the color in from the edges, leaving the very center uncolored. I used Daffodil Delight and Hello Honey (also around the edges of the mat). With Basic Black I stamped the image from Serene Silhouettes and a butterfly from a stash of individual stamps. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. There is something for almost everything in that set!

And now for the last card. Being able to create this one was very special for me, because, you see, I lost my son last month. So many people responded with kindness that I had to thank them in a special way.

And thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and crafty day! Give your loved ones a hug and let them know how much they mean to you!

Mailbox Valentine

Some time ago, I created one of these mailboxes. That original post can be found here. I couldn't find it at the time so "re-invented" it. This time it will actually hold two of the nuggets. So here is my version on this years mailbox Valentine:

Here is what you will need:

Real Red Cardstock: 1 1/2" x 4 3/4"
                                  1" x 3 1/2"
One piece from the word window punch

Designer Series Paper: 1 1/4" x 4 3/4"

Hearts from Itty Bitty Accents Heart Punch: 2-glimmer and 2-DSP

One mini brad
All Purpose Liquid Glue
Strong Adhesive Tape

Take the first piece of cardstock and score at 1" and 4". Then using the bonefolder, slightly curl between the scores. This will be your "box".

Using the liquid glue, place the DSP strip on top of the cardstock and refold. Using liquid glue allows the paper to move as it is folded with the base piece.

From the 1" score line, punch an 1/8" hole approx. 1/4" up from the line and in from the edge. Punch a hole in one end of the word window piece and using the mini brad, attach it to the "box". This forms the "flag" base.

Now add strong double sided tape to the top side of the 3/4" "tab" close to the end and to the score line. Place the 1" tab over it an press together.

Take the next piece of card stock and round the corners 1/4" on one end and 1/2" on the other end. I actually used a crop-a-dile rounder that has both, but it you don't have both sizes, you can actually use a circle punch or framelit to do the same thing. With the punch, just insert the end you want to round into the punch from the back. Then from the 1/2" rounded end, score at 1 1/8".

Then attach a small scrap for the hinge to hold it onto the back of the mailbox. I used half of a window punch which I then folded in half. Just add a bit of liquid glue and hold it together for a few seconds to bond.

Flip the piece over and add more liquid glue to about an inch from the score line. This will bond to the bottom of the inside of the mailbox.

Slip it inside the box, lining the score line up with the back-bottom edge of the box. Add a spot of liquid glue to the top of the tab and bond it to the inside-top of the box.

Your box is now complete. Now to add the embellishments!

Using liquid glue, I added one glitter heart to the front-bottom. I added three different hearts to create the flag and inserted two nuggets into the box. You could also wrap the nuggets with DSP if you wanted. Just cut a piece 1" x 3" and wrap it around, connecting with double sided tape.

I hope you enjoyed this posting. There are a lot of steps, but it really is a quick and easy project, which is always my favorite! (Especially just a few days away from the holiday!) It is also a great way to use up some of those scraps that we all hang on to. :)

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Wink!!!

Don't you just hate the day BEFORE your order is to arrive???? I so want to play with my new products, but, alas, I have to wait until they arrive TOMMORROW!

So I decided to share something else with you. I LOVE adding bling to my projects and this new item in the Occasions catalog gives me the perfect item to do that. I can even add it to areas that I might not have added bling to before, but it gives just the subtle hint of glimmer. This is one of my favorite "go to products" and I think it might become yours, too.

Here is the video that demonstrates it. I love the clear one,(#141897, sold on page 24 of the Occasions book) and can hardly wait to try the gold (#141898), which is, of course, in the anticipated delivery for tomorrow!

Thank you so much for stopping by and if you have any questions, just send me a message. Have a great day!!!!

Fun Fold Valentine

I love trying new ideas for cards and this is a fun one. I know I should have waited til my order arrived so that I could have used all current product, but sometimes fun just doesn't want to wait! I am sure most of you have current or retired items in your stash that would look great, so I hope this example makes you want to pull them out and have some fun!

FIRST! I don't know why the one picture turned out pink and the other one red????? They are BOTH actually red! The top one shows the card partially open and the bottom is completely closed.

Start with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Real Red cardstock. Score at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2".

Working on the covers of your card, cut 2 1/4" x 4" patterned paper for the top flap and 4" x 4" for the bottom piece.

On the small flap, slide the 2" circle punch all the way onto the cardstock with the score line in the center and punch. (I actually used the punched piece for my card, so hang onto it.)

Folding the bottom flap up, line up the same size circle punch piece and glue to the flap. (Drop it down just a smidgeon so that it won't catch when it is closed). I added a 1 3/4" circle punch, a fussy cut heart. ( I actually stamped the heart from the Perfect Pennants set onto the back of my patterned paper and cut it out.) Then layered that with the Itty Bitty punch set heart punched from the Real Red Glimmer Paper.

Decorate as desired!! I was actually going to use my heart framelits for the punch, but decided to use as much current product as possible.

OKAY: want to know where this idea came from and also a great video from a fellow demonstrator???? HERE IT IS

Have a great time with this one. I plan to do some St. Patrick's Day cards with it also!
